Abstract

We measured HCHO and TVOCs at 266 child-care centers in Chungcheongnam-do from May 2010 to January2015. HCHO also showed a rising trend up toward the indoor temperature and humidity levels were statisticallysignificant (p<0.01). TVOCs also showed a rising trend up gradually while humidity levels were statisticallysignificant (p<0.01). In ventilation equipment HCHO was statistically significant (p<0.05), while the TVCOs werealso not statistically significant. Health risk assessment of HCHO was carried out, fixed point in the CTE and gotRME appears to be 8.17×10−6 and 1.73×10−5, respectively, and the probabilistic risk assessment of the Monte Carlotest appeared to be 50% 6.84×10−6, in 95% 1.90×10−5. 1×10−6 exceeded the reference value to the ECR proposedby the EPA. Therefore, a study on national health impact assessment in facilities for children is urgently needed.
